It does!  The vector-thrust backpack with the ducts on the arms seemed more practical, though.

True, but it is not electric.   ;)  And really noisy, too.

These types of devices always seems to futuristic, but the closer we get to them being available the less desirable they seem. The actual physics of moving around in one of these seems awkward and clumsy.

Personally I feel like a rideable drone/flying bike form factor is a more viable (and more fun!) form of single-person air transportation.
