Title: Beware of Google!
Post by: JaimeC on September 08, 2020, 09:50:17 PM
Yesterday was the second time I was informed by Google of a J1772 charging station that WASN'T.  Fortunately, both times I had enough of a charge to get to a Level2 J1772 station.  The two misidentified stations were in actuality combination ChaDeMo/CCS stations.  Great if I had a Livewire or an Energica but absolutely useless to my Zero.

From now on I trust Plugshare to get me to the correct stations.

I would only trust Plugshare. Be sure to check-in at each one to keep the info up to date, as I always do.

I didn't even know that's a feature that Google (Maps I assume) had, or that anyone used anything other than Plugshare.

Yup, on Google Maps once you select your destination check "Nearby" and type in "Charging Station" and you'll see what is SUPPOSEDLY available.  This has been a feature for a couple of years now.
