So I bought a nice used Energy Motion Ocean Electric motorcycle that is now about 4 years old. It has 6 12v Gel batteries with a combined Ah of about 30.
The Gel batteries are on their last leg and the company here in Colombia wants 3.7 million pesos ($946 at today's exchange rate) to change it out with one Lithium battery with the same 30Ah 72V rating which will also shave off about 50kg of weight off the motorcycle.
Their price included the battery, installation, reprogramming the control unit and charger and warranty.
It there a better option out there for me to go? Getting things here to Colombia is very hard.

Including charger and programming? That's not bad. Those are the two things that'll bite you in such an install.

Keep in mind that of the 30A of the gel battery you can only use 50% of the 30Ah capacity (15Ah), and with the lithium battery you can use 80% of the 30Ah capacity (24Ah), so, basically, with lithium you get a lot more capacity at a much lower weight.

OK, thanks for the replies. Hopefully soon Colombia will open back up for business and I can have it done and get it over with. Might as well have them install the LED light kit while they have it to conserve a little more power...
