Seems like this might be the place to make an introduction thread, so here we go.
Name is Paul, I'm a professional bicycle mechanic and electric motorcycle enthusiast. Currently I'm working on doing a sort of cafe racer conversion on my Kawasaki Ninja 500R. As of present, it's still a gas guzzler, I need to finish the custom bodywork, do some stuff with mounting lights, paint it, get it registered, and then actually ride the thing. Had it for two years now, and still haven't taken it for a spin.
But ultimately I know that everytime I go to fill up the tank I'm gonna die a little inside. I want to convert it to electric, hoping for something similar to what it currently offers performance-wise, and my budget is low, which is pretty much why I'm here. Just doing my research about how-to, and also advice on what parts to use. I'll likely be buying things a little bit at a time.
Here's a picture of my bike, try not to hate on it too much.

Pretty spare source bike! Kinda cute, tho.
Good luck with your project! Lots of the riders here also have a gas bike - they can be refilled faster and go farther and are cheaper ^-^

Welcome, Paul. I think that would be a good bike for an electric conversion. I like the design of the frame. It should work well to support your battery pack. Good luck!

Cool project.
This is the fossil fuel machine I plan to convert to electric:
