SRF accessories
« on: February 22, 2020, 04:05:43 AM »

Hello,

I am curious to know if anybody managed to get a top box installed on his/her Zero SR/F? If so, could you post a photo, as I am curious to see what this bike looks like with it on.
Also, any other type of accessories that might be useful, or modifications?
Photos welcomed.

So I purchased the top box kit when it first came out.  I installed it myself being I had it shipped from a dealer in another state.  Installation wasn't bad.  Though it did not come with instructions I think it is pretty easy to figure out if you are handy.  It was a little complicated by some bolts not lining up as they should and required me drilling some new holes.  I wasn't crazy about having to leave off the nice silver side panels when you attach the rack.  It looks like the design of the SRS has fixed this issue. All in all I like the rack.  It is a nice size without being too big.  Great to just take off my helmet and gloves and lock them up quickly.    Even fully loaded with a case of beer and groceries, I found it did not adversely affect handling.  I added the optional backrest and brake light (both ordered on Amazon at discounted price).  The brake light added a little time to the install but I like it.  It is pretty easy to tap the brake wire under the pinon seat. The case is pretty well made but very plain.  I like how easily it comes off the rack if I wanted to leave it off.  The attached photo is not great but only one I have with the case on.

As for other accessories, they have been slow in coming out.  I am calling my dealer every week to pester him to get me pricing and availability on the peg lowering kit, centerstand and power tank.  It seems that Zero is not really up to speed with accessories for the SRF.  You can just look for their missing accessory page on their website to tell.  Other than that I added the following third party accessories: Deflector Windsheild, Cortech tank bag, Rox handlebar risers, mirror extenders, screen protector for the dashboard, Ram mount phone and dashcam holders.  And I am still on the fence about ordering the corbin seat.  It may end up being a choice between powertank or seat.  So as always, the original price of the bike was only the beginning of my money pit.  Hope this helps you.

Thank you for these photos.
My problem is that I need the top box, but I think it doesn't look right on the SRF. Just out of proportions, and just doesn't integrate well in my opinion.
Anybody knows about a different type of box, with a different color maybe, or a size that would make it look better?
Any tip/pointers appreciated.

Shad sh33 with colored top cover
The red is a very close match to the red on the sr/f

The SH33 (33 liters) case is a lot narrower than the SH39 (39 liters)

SH33 :  43 x 31 x 42 cm (BxHxD)
SH39 :  51 x 32 x 43 cm (BxHxD)

if you look at the dimensions the SH33 is 8 cm (3 inches) narrower from side to side, and roughly the same size in height and depth (front to back)

Obviously it holds 6 liters less

Does anyone have the Corbin gunfighter seat for the SRF?  I am considering it but wanted to know the comfort compared with the stock seat.  Also how is the comfort of the pinion section.  Lastly is the heat option okay?  Just hoping on getting some feedback prior to dropping $600 on this seat.

About a tail bag? Anybody has one installed? I don't know how large of a bag can be installed given the size of the rear seat.
Feel free to share photos.

This is a 20L bag (from china) with a 10L bag on top. That 10L bag is really very small. It can barely hold the 220V adapter from zero together with my shoes. The 20L bag is fine for my clothes and macbook and some loose ends. They are proper weather proof... Also popping a can of soda inside will not be noticed from the outside ::)

I have the extra luggage plate mounted on my SRF. Without that plate you really have to mount the bags very much forward so that part of the riders seat is covered. On the SRS some form of luggage plate is included I noticed and the back seat is already larger.

Biggest "issue" is that it's all very much covered with dirt when riding in all weather conditions.

Before this I strapped a backpack to it using rock straps. That also works pretty wel but I had to cover it with rain covers (front and rear) to protect it from all the dirt and rain.

Hans,

would you mind confirming the length of your tail bag, as well as the length of the rear pillion only please?
I am trying to see what size tail bag I could attached without having to install the additional platform.
thx!!

Sure; the bag itself is 40cm in length. It's the type where you roll the end to close it for rain so you can somewhat play with the dimensions. But 40cm is with it loaded with macbook, headphone, chargers, clothes, shoes and type2 charge cable all in that same 20L bag.

The seat is 30cm in total but only 20cm is flat, the other 10cm goes down in a steep angle to meet the main seat. With the rear rack added I get like 50cm in total. See picture.

EXCELLENT. You're the best HANS. That helps me a lot!
I don't have the bike yet. Still considering. And trying to figure out what I could add to carry things is a deciding factor in ordering it or not.
Thank you again!
