Lean SR/F charging cable that fits in the storage compartment
« on: February 16, 2020, 10:53:25 PM »

I am planning to buy the SR/F and have been talking to a local dealer. One thing that bummed me out is he said the included Type 2 charger cable wont fit it the bikes storage compartment, so it means I would have to bring a backpack whenever I go somewhere for charging.

I am not sure if the included cable is an official one from Zero, or if it is just one the dealer added. But in any case, I would like to change to a more practical one.

Do anyone know of a good cable that would fit, and hopefully also leave some space to a bottle of water or some small things?

As far as I know I need Type 2 to Schuko or the best would be one that has Type 2 to both Schuko and Type 2 at the same time, if that even exist and is not too bulky.

I live in Norway, so would most likely encounter the wall socket type (Schuko) charging in the free government provided chargers around my town. So that is the most interesting type. But if any cable that can fit has also the type 2 socket for faster charging that would be even better... :)

I ended up buying a type 2 to Shucko adapter and then switching the socket out for a UK one, I posted some links and some more info in my thread here: https://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=9754.msg86685

SRF with original tank storage? So no extra battery or charger installed? That should fit most cables.

On my Europe SRF premium I can easily put the 220V to Type2 adapter from zero in with lots of room left for other stuff. But I can also fit a 4m 3x16A cable with 2 type 2 connectors on it with some space left. That space then is mostly within the circle formed by the cable but it's there.

Yup , what Hans said ^^  :D
The official charging cable fits easily in the storage compartment as long as you haven't had the extra battery or charger installed as that eats the storage space up.

One thing that bummed me out is he said the included Type 2 charger cable wont fit it the bikes storage compartment, so it means I would have to bring a backpack whenever I go somewhere for charging.

My stock charge cable fits in the provided storage.
I also purchased a Jesla cable to let me charge form more outlet types (14-50, dryer outlets and such).  It fits in the provided storage.
I do commute to work so I was using a backpack for my laptop.  As soon as the rear rack was available, I got it and a top box.
This lets me store much more.

The smallest charge adapter I have is the Tesla Tap.  If you have Tesla destination chargers available, this is most convenient.

Edit: I guess I need to say that I am in the USA since charging is different on either side of the Atlantic.
