Hi there
Although I will not be able to help with your question, I looked up your bike. Without speaking Spanish I managed to understand the technical details to some degree. Automatic Browser translation also helped.
Do you have an idea how healthy the battery is? How many times it has been drained, recharged and under what condition?
Who is the maker of the bike?
I hope, all goes well with the papers and you can enjoy the bike as soon as possible ...
Thank you for the reply, after 6 years here in Colombia and studying Spanish for a bit longer I am not to bad at reading and speaking it... like I tell everyone here, I only know two languages, "Bad English and Mal Espanol" :-)
If I believe what the owner tells me about the care of the battery(s) they should be in very good condition. He said he only travels 8km a day so it hasn't been through that many charge cycles. He said the factory where he bought will replace them, he said there are 6, so 6 -12v batteries for 72v, and that they would charge 1.6 million pesos ($468.66 at today exchange rate) or I could replace them myself for about 1.4 million pesos. I did find a lithium battery, 72v 40ah here in Colombia but it is over 6.7 million pesos and I am not sure I really need the extra 10ah for local driving as I live close to town.
I am not sure if "Energy Motion" is the actual factory that makes them here or if they are some sort of Chinese import... it is very hard to find information here in Colombia even on Google.
My hope is to figure all these things out and then I will be able to share my knowledge with others to make someone else life easier :-)
I am told the new "tarjeta de propiedad" (owners card) has been issued in my name so it is looking good for my purchase of the e-moto this coming Tuesday and I will post an update shortly there after.
