Still no sign of these coming to North America even though it's been talked about since 2017.  Price point of $7,900 USD doesn't seem compelling.  Another $3k will get you a Zero with twice the power and domestic support.  At the other end is the CSS City Slicker at $2,500 USD which is under-powered.  When are we going to see a good mid size contender with decent specs at a budget price point?

I can see the appeal for European cities and towns, a bit more range and faster charging than a Zero for less money while still being reasonably quick in that environment (probably close to as fast as you'd want to ride a Zero around traffic)

It would work for nearly all of my riding, but the lack of repair support kinda nixed the city slicker for me.

Something better than the 3kW City Slicker, but not needing 0 to 60 mph in 4s of a 34kW Zero DS.  Priced at half of the price of a Zero DS.

Perhaps, 'mid-size' is a bad descriptor given the electric superbikes that make a Zero look like a kid's riding toy.

Yeah, the existence of superbikes puts Zero's products in a mid-range perspective, is why I asked.

Unfortunately, there is a big gap between Zero's $10k minimum and the $2k-$4k segments. The GenZe scooter is at the upper end of the lower segment, but tops out at 30mph. None of the lower segment seem serviceable yet - I mean when they break down, you have a chance that your dealer or even you can handle it.

The BMW C-Evolution is highway capable and not as punchy as a Zero, but it costs more because it has nicer features and BMW-level servicing network. And, well, because it's a BMW.

NIU seems likely to fit the bill, but it's not clear yet. Evoke doesn't feel that great to buy by comparison.

If Evoke had the availability and support that Zero has the USA, it would have been a contender for me.  That's all I need.  The J1772 is icing on the cake.  But as it stands I'm happy with my Zero FXS.
