SRF tank lid replacement
« on: November 26, 2019, 07:54:38 AM »

Did anyone get this yet or hear about when it is coming in?  It was supposed to be released in November but my dealer still hasn't heard when he is getting it.  My bike is at dealer getting the BMS replaced and I hope the dealer can do everything before returning bike to me.

i requested this recall item be replaced at the dealer. Service department took vin number and sent to Zero. The dealer said Zero would contact me or service will contact me when the part comes in and this was about 1 week ago. I am still awaiting word on it.

Zero sent directly to you for you to install?  I didn’t think that was an option.  I may opt for that if it is not at dealer b the time my BMS is fixed rather than bring the bike in again.

They didn't, they sent it to the dealer.  It just worked out that it was easier this way.  I got a nail in my back tire, so they were changing that out for me.  But since they are 65 miles away and its winter, they've been really cool about just letting me bring in the back rim instead of the whole bike.  They know I've had the tank off before when I did the vinyl.  Since Zero isn't asking for the old part back, they just let me have the lid.

You might be able to ask your dealer if they would be willing to ship the new lid to you.  But I can at least confirm they are shipping replacements out.

Yes, if you could post a how to with pics that would be amazing. Not excited about towing my bike 350mi each way for a cosmetic fix I can do at home.

Thats all I've got for now.  Its the whole lid with seal.  I haven't done it because I'll need to re-wrap the new one.

I'll post pictures if there is anything difficult about it.  The tank comes off really easy.  Its 2 bolts at the front, 2 at the back, and then you have to take the two lower screws out of the silver wings.  Whole thing lifts off.  I'm guessing once the tank is off there won't be much to switching the lids.

Off topic: What bar-end mirrors are those?
Is that a crack on the tank? (just under the lid)

Rizoma Reverse Retro Bar End Mirror. They're great, and installed easily over the aluminum bar ends.
Went and checked the bike - no cracks.

Cool. Thanks.
Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. Now that I look closely, again, it seems to be just reflection.
