Test rides!
« on: November 17, 2019, 07:05:02 PM »

Richard Hatfield says anyone can come down between 1-5PM on any Friday and get a ride. Maybe even a tour? Anyone in the area able to go over with some GoPros and give us a view?

This invitation should go out to the motorcycle press and maybe we could see some articles written about the bikes.

They started doing this 2 days ago and claimed to be fully booked for the first Friday, which means between 1-6 they must have had people constantly riding the Strikes. So there should be a lot of photos and feedback from the people that went. Please share, people! No need to be shy

Well, we know they had something so they're probably showing that.

Honest or not, when things start falling apart, it's gotta be frustrating.

I wonder if the test rides that are being offered are only for their employees?   ::)

Is this test ride thing the best-kept secret in the motorcycle community? Where exactly is the invite?

It was a response to an email query and he shared it on Facebook.

Is that response even real?

"No need for deposit if purchased through a dealer".

How many dealers does Lightning have?

And they just "opened their second production facility"? Those Strikes must have been flying out the door, can't keep up with demand!

To be fair, Tesla's factory in Fremont isn't their first one, either.

That line they showed a picture of wouldn't keep up with either Energica's nor Zero's production so if they really took alot of deposits, they should be looking for more space.

I suppose we just have to wait another Friedman Unit.

My Zero/Energica dealer sent several letters to Lightning about becoming a dealer and he never got a response back.

What are you saying?

Tesla was definitely selling cars when making them at the San Carlos facility. There were plenty of journalist test rides, and customers were actually receiving them.

Ditto to the Model S at the NUMMI plant which they took over.

So far we have 0 confirmed deliveries of a production Strike.

Looks like they delivered one half-baked prototype.
