Rear wheel stand for Zero FXS?
« on: November 15, 2019, 05:07:46 AM »

Can anyone recommend a rear wheel stand that will fit an FXS?  It seems the various threads here are undecided.

I basically want something that will safely support it for months on end while in storage during the winter, and/or for maintenance during other times.

Pit Bull has a fitment for Zero's which is at least confirmed:

I just confirmed that the part number listed for the rear axle matches the part number listed for the 2016 FXS. So, that's one option.

Thanks Brian.  I did see that, but Pit Bull seems to expensive for that piece of metal.  I'll see if there are other confirmed options.

Yeah, the trick is finding a stand with flat supports that slide in narrow enough to firmly support Zero's swingarm. I was not satisfied with my rear stand with the DSR, but then again my garage floor is slightly inclined, and I can't afford any instability while I work.

A regular dirt bike stand might work for long term storage, assuming it's out of the way and there are no kids/pets to worry about and the floor is flat. I use an adjustable one for changing wheels, etc.

I'm looking for more of a rear wheel (or front) swingarm stand..just something to keep it upright and off the kickstand.  I'm not sure which one fits the FXS the best though.  I was thinking of putting on rear axle sliders so I imagine that would open up more possibilities?

Edit: I just watched a video of the Tusk stand.  I think that looks perfect.  Thanks

I put spools on my SR/F and got a floating stand from Moto-D

Vid here

If you are adding axle sliders, I think you would be able to use this like any other stand.
I am WAY happy with this.  It lets me park the bike with the tail away from the wall, lift it on to the stand and roll the bike right up against the wall.
Time to ride out?  Roll the tail away from the wall, confirm the kick stand is down, flip it off the stand and guide the bike over on to the stand.

Since I have limited space in the garage (wife parks her car there so I have a small slice to park and need room for foot traffic) this stand means I do not have to do a 17 point back and forth to get in and out.  OK, 17 is an exaggeration but it takes me many moves back and forth to get it next to the wall and get out without the floating stand.

I'm glad this thread got resurrected. I'll try to add these recommendations to the unofficial manual/wiki.

Has anyone seen a stand that works on more rough surfaces?  My storage area is 'barely blacktop'.  I might be able to upgrade it to cobblestone or brick :/
