New vapor delivery date.
« on: September 30, 2019, 09:12:14 AM »

Today, I went down to the Reno Harley dealer as they were cleaning up from Street Vibrations (those who went got snowed on yesterday!) . They had several times the bikes as would fit in the store, all outside. I never knew Harley had so many different models. Some were more interesting than the typical Harley. They started to ride  them back into the trucks while I was there. A long process that takes many trips in many trucks.  I have no idea where they all came from and where all these Harleys are going back to.

Anyway, I went in the store as I was charging up my Energica on their 15 KW HD CCS charger. So of course, I looked for the LW and didn't see it so I asked when they expect to have it. IMO, that's pretty bad they they didn't even have it for Street Vibrations.

The new vapor date for the LW is mid Oct.   Around the 16th of Oct., I will go back and keep you guys updated with the next vapor date.

Oh I'd heard December. October would be better for them but just remember it's the runner up Electric Motorcycle of the Year 2019.

I wonder what the cause is of all the vapor dates. It would look better for Harley if they simply said the bike will be at the dealers some time next year.

IMO, there must be a problem that they ran into that they are trying to fix before they release the LW.

BTW, when was the very first vapor delivery date?    I lost track as there have been so many.

August, I think. The official stats got released early July. The original plan, if I recall, was for August deliveries.

That's not too bad, if they are only a couple of months off, but we have no clue how many more delays they will have.

Just in time for the end of the riding season. It really doesn't matter at this point as most people won't be able to ride them until next spring.

The end of the riding season in some places is the start of the riding season in other places.  Take southern AZ, Texas, Florida for a few examples.  The last few years I have been riding my Zero  DS in November & December while in Tucson, AZ.   Perhaps that's their peak of the motorcycle season.  I have been going there in my RV with my Zero carried on the cycle ramp in the hitch.

And even here in Reno, I ride almost as much in the winter as in the summer.

Yep, I ride year round in Mesquite nv. 115 degree highs in the summer and 30 degree lows in the winter. In fact its been my only means of transpotation for over a year now.

Ride all year round here in New York, too.  If the roads are clear, I'm riding.  The only thing I don't do in the winter is multi-day, interstate trips.  I still commute, visit friends, and do light-duty shopping on two wheels.

Today I rode to Headquarters to see if I could get an answer as to when.

I was told by a guy from customer service department that in a few days (he said that means this week) the dealers we’ll be told when they well get the Livewire.

If they donot he can expect me in the lobby next Monday.

Well I see Uke’s Harley Davidson delivered it’s first Livewire.  The only one I know of so far.

Congratulations, Matt Levatech.  Now we’re are the rest.

Of coarse, Matt is CEO and Pres of Harley.

That probably makes a difference.    ::)  Will Jay Leno be next?   ;)

Looks like the local (Harley Davidson of Nassau County) is advertising the LiveWire on their site.  Guess I should head down there to see when they expect to have them and ask if they have any deposits yet.
