Electric motorcycle article in American Motorcyclist
« on: September 19, 2019, 04:54:57 AM »

The October 2019 issue of the American Motorcyclist Association's American Motorcyclist magazine features a cover showing the Zero SR/F and a statement saying: "Electric Motorcycles Reach a Turning Point".   There is a long feature article titled "Charging Ahead",  "Electric Motorcycles Pivot Toward Tomorrow", in the magazine discussing current electric motorcycle technology, brands and their future. The article is 6 pages long and starts on page 30 of the magazine.  :)

I thought the American Motorcyclist article was pretty decent.  The only error I found was hidden in this paragraph:

While California-based CSC motorcycles offers its electric City Slicker for less that $3,000, most other electric bikes fall into the range $9,000 to $20,000. The Harley-Davidson LiveWire clocks in at $30,000. The Lightning LS-218s superbike, which promises 145 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque, is in the mid-to-high $30,000s. And the Energica Ego will set you back about $34,000.

(That last statement is a bit out of date. The Energica Ego sells for around $24,000, depending upon options.)

The City Slicker performs like a scooter, tho.

There are pedal-assist bikes that do better on range and speed.  I looked at them, they're dinky.  I did consider it, though!
