I have spent the bike's first 5000 miles in Eco mode because Custom mode has this 'initial max torque' of ~70% when you give it ~25% throttle, then after a couple of seconds it follows the Custom Max Torque setting, 40% in this case.  Today I decided to brave Custom mode because I really wanted its 200% regen, and sure enough the belt broke at 40 mph and 33% throttle while going over Botts' dots, display showing ~70% torque.  I remember reading on this forum that Eco mode's regen can be set to 200%, is it "Max Eco Regen Coast Tq" and "Max Eco Regen Brake Tq" ?  Or, is it possible to modify the 'initial max torque' for Custom mode?

No 200% regen.  There's a regen value that applies on throttle off (I like it at zero) and a regen value that occurs when you touch the brake (I like it at 100%).

They are not additive.  Generally, the throttle-off regen should be lower than the braking regen.  Newbies to electric often like to calibrate it so it's like engine drag and downshift on their old gas bikes.  Electric old timers know that coasting is better than regen decel followed by accel (there's loss in every "transaction" which is reflected not only in less range but also in controller heat, which can be a factor on a hot day or powering up a hill).

Anyway, "100%" in Zero's settings is actually only about 10% of what the controller can do (nobody wants you to lose traction : - )

I wish there was more regen available.. i can _almost_ do one hand driving now, but the throttle off regen is too puny.
I tried the 0-10% setting togo referred to, that was not even close to being as comfortable as the control i get with throttle control on regen.
Also, i could easily shave off 2% more on usage with that setting.
