Having worked in sales at most of my local dealers, I have a really hard time spending money on freight, prep, doc fees and such, I sold on average, 28 bikes/atv's a month and usually discounted units 5-7% and only charged a $99 doc fee which included a tag or off road stickers (TDS) for TN residents, all these dealers have been in business since the 70's and still do quite well. No way I'm paying retail for anything then another grand on top for junk fees. I'd buy a new non-demo base for 18k out the door and pay my own taxes when I register it in my state, unlikely to ever happen but that's what it'd take. I'd like to add that my local KTM shop sold Zero with no fees at all other than tax and tag, they probably even discounted the bikes in an effort to move them, they still dropped them, imo, dealers and the manufacturer are gonna have to get more aggressive on pricing to get these bikes on the road in any volume.
