2019 Aug 10th NorCal Informal Meet and Greet
« on: July 30, 2019, 09:01:23 PM »

For folks that may be in the Sacramento area, a couple of us are planning an informal meet and greet at 8465 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758 on August 10th at 10am.

It'll mainly be an introduction and a chance to check out each other's electric bikes. Swap bikes for a little bit and check out different models. We'll probably do lunch somewhere in Sacramento proper that has multiple chargers available before heading our separate ways.

Hope to see a few other folks there...

I'd love to meet up
I will be there also.

There is a J1772 charge station a few miles east  down the same road, but only one. That could be a problem. There are many places to charge in Sacramento, however.

IMO, all shops that sell electric bikes should have J-1772 charge stations right on their lot.  There's really no excuse to not have such, IMO.

Sweet, we won't be competing for the J plug, I'm sure it will be available for you as I only use CCS, and I'll be done in 20 min.

I just checked Plugshare in it looks like they now have BOTH J1772 and CCS at the WalMart at:

8465 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758.

And has several check-ins already.  Even has places to dine nearby.

That could be a much better place for us to all meet!

I don't have a hot date on that day!  I can wait for my 6.3 KWs worth of chargers to recharge back up my 16.3 KWH battery-- as I am having lunch, of course!

IMO, electric cycles teach us patience. Food comes late, you get a better charge.  City traffic gives better range. So does slowing down.

BTW, what type of bike will you be riding that has CCS?

I’m cool with shifting the meetup to the WalMart chargers instead of EGPS. Let me know if that’s what folks want and I’ll update my post/invite on another forum as well.

Probably best for the people with only J1772.

I most likely will have if I still lived in the SF area. And I still may take a drive to Mt. View to buy one. It will probably be the only one in Nevada for a while.

I figure trying to get service on it from here, cannot be any worse than that for my Zeros, even with a Zero dealer just a few miles away.

Makes no difference to me, as I figure we can meet at EGPS and then go to the Walmart chargers or wherever.

I'm within range of this though it's a summer workday for me.  Added date to topic title.  ;)

That can change on the 13th of this month. I just now booked a room in Mt. View for that date.

I will head for Auburn this coming Monday. On my SR, of course.

I say we shift the meet up location to that Wal-Mart, with more charging stations available and more eating options I think that’ll make better sense than Elk Grove Power Sports.
