Correct, I haven’t experienced this issue on my EsseEsse9. My 38 mile freeway commute involves stretches of low speed lane splitting and high speed blasts on less crowded sections. I routinely accelerate in spurts from 70+ to 90+ and I haven’t had any stalls in over 4000 miles of mostly commute riding.

Although I haven’t weighed myself with all my gear on and all my daily gear (laptop, lunch, etc) I’m probably not too far away from the 300lb mark.

Again, I have to wonder if the stalling issue may be related to the difference in tuning between the two models (Ego vs EsseEsse9). That’s why I was wondering if any Eva107’s exhibited this behavior. I may be wrong but based on further reading it’s my understanding that the motors are the same across all three models but the tuning is different on the EsseEsse9 resulting in lower power while the Ego is the only model allowed to hit 150 while the others are limited to 125.

What SoC are you guys starting to notice a significant drop in power? I can't pull more than 60 kW when my Ego's at a less than 85%.

I can't say that I ever noticed a loss of power due to state of charge. How can you tell what the bikes power output is? It must be on one of the screen variants that I didn't use.

Toggle mode button to the right once and it will give a more detailed readout of power consumption. Another toggle will add a visual representation in the form of a graph.

After further testing, it seems that either the inverter or the battery is heating up fairly quickly. After 3 or so minutes of hard riding, the battery indicator turns yellow and the regen braking turns off. Ambient temperature was 62 f today.

Please define hard riding :) is that top speed, or just spirited riding at (Vmax + 10 )nearly legal speeds?

It was the latter, hard full throttle acceleration out of corners along with using mostly regen braking while entering new turns. I didn't make it more than 2 miles before I lost power and regen.

Hey have you checked the fluid levels of the controller coolant? Maybe it's low.

I’ll try finding the coolant level, thanks.

On my SS9, need to remove the left side of the tank to view the coolant level. Very easy to do. Probably the same on your bike.

I won't be able to do this until tonight after I get off work, sadly. My manual says I'll need to pull the right and left side covers and remove the upper fairing (tank). Not too bad!

The coolant level’s good, right up there to the ‘max’ line in the inspection window.

I wonder if the pump is malfunctioning. Do you hear the pump cycle when you key the bike on? It's that little mechanical whirring sound.

Yep I’m hearing it. I think I’ll chalk this up as I’m probably riding a bit too hard with regen set to high. Next time I get a chance, I’ll try the same but with regen set to medium. Also, I’ll wait to see if the warmer summer months make things tougher.

I'd reach out to Energica as well.
