I bet that Indian company doesn't care about cease and desist letters. But they had better not try to sell their vehicles in the U.S. or the EU.

Which reminds me, I wonder if Zero markets their bikes in India?

There's also the Zero 10X dual-motor stand-up scooter from Singapore.
Nice video of them riding it though the flat parts of San Francisco.

Derivative naming aside, it's a pretty sharp-looking little scoot. To just get around town on, might not be a bad option. Pretty lame top speed though (45 kph). But for a student or a young person whose transportation needs are pretty basic, if the price is reasonable, it might not be a bad way to go. Low fuel costs, low maintenance, quiet, a step up from those stand-up rental scooters and it would probably be a lot cheaper per mile than renting one of those.

Specs are bog standard for the many electric scooters (scooter as in Vespa, not as in tiny-wheeled stand-up ones) sold in Asia; they are more-or-less the equivalent of 50cc ICE scooters.
Range is typically 30-40mi, which is enough for (sub)urban commuting.
In terms of capabilities, they're far closer to e-bicycles than motorcycles. The market is already at US$17 Billion/year. Compare that to e-motorcycles...

(And since stand-up scooters were mentioned: Outside the US, everywhere I've seen them -- and they're extremely popular here in Israel -- they're not rented, but owned.) The regs for their use here are the same as for e-bicycles: Min. age 16, max motor speed 15mph, max motor 250W .)
