I'm in. Couldn't resist.

Hopefully whatever group I'm in gets a bike within a couple of months. Fingers crossed.

Some questions if anyone knows:
 - on my S, a Zero rear rack plus aftermarket adapter works with Givi monokey. Same with the SR/F?
 - How much bar riser can I install without headaches or replacing a lot of wiring etc?
 - to charge at a campground 14-50 240v outlet, do I need just a cable or do I need a Clipper Creek or similar?
Thanks
Bump

Here it is! I lay hands on it tomorrow. I’m curious about this conversation about the tank panel gap, and if there is actually an issue, and if it’s getting fixed or what.

Any opinions?

Cograts! Here is how the tank lid should look (somehow perfect at a reveal event), and what it actually looks like on the delivered bikes.

Source a 40A (NEC recommended 80% of 50A outlet) travel J1772 adapter to use with your SR/F. If you want access to Tesla Destination Charging then I would suggest a 3rd-party TeslaTap and also acquire a travel charger of some sort second-hand from a Tesla owner. The "corded generation 1" travel charger packaged with Model S/X was 40A and wired to 14-50. The travel charger "generation 2" with every Model 3 is only 32A but it has quick change outlet plugs for 14-50 5-15 and others are available. Those Model 3 are selling like hotcakes so there is a surplus of "gen 2" travel chargers although notably Tesla has started phasing out the 14-50 connector as a freebie (it and other quick connector plugs remain for order on the Tesla website and aftermarket clones as well). The SR/F in 3kW+3kW configuration should (I am guessing here) max out at 32A.

A truly awesome hack would be to switch in a Tesla-style inlet that can handle the 3kW+3kW+6kW SR/F configuration.

Thanks, hope I can understand all that.
I did not see a reference to Clipper Creek or similar, so if that's correct I could save a lot of weight, $$, and space.

The tank lid on my 2017 dsr looks just as bad. Poor fit and finish by Zero unfortunately.

My new SRF has the gap. I emailed Zero to ask about it, no response.

Does it look adjustable at all?

The rubber seal for the storage compartment is too thick, an easy fix would be to trim down the seal and drill new mounting holes for the hinge pins

I read in the facebook group that Zero has acknowledged the gap and is working on simple fix.  Rather than delay the already delayed shipments of the customer bikes they are going to ship as is and once the parts are in, will have the dealers install.  Now I did not get this from Zero directly but I trust the source.

That does make sense and is what I would do if I was Zero.   ;)

Sorry your bike has the gap, but glad you have your bike already! I am in Group C... :(

Please let us know if/when you hear back from Zero.

Email from Jeff at Zero today.
Here is what I wrote:

“Hey Jeff!

I pick up my bike tomorrow and am super excited. Quick question...there has been some discussion on the internet regarding this apparent panel gap on the “tank,” and that Zero was planning on addressing this. Can you tell me what the deal is there? The photo of my bike shows this gap which doesn’t seem like much, but I was curious if Zero was changing this somehow and if so what that would mean for my bike.

Thanks and can’t wait for tomorrow!
Graham”

Here is what he said:

“Graham
I spoke with our CS department and he said he is not aware of any changes here.
I will let you know if I find out anything else.”

So looks like no plans to address the panel gap as far as I can tell.

Or perhaps the transfer of information (such as any future changes to the SR/F) within the Zero company is on a "need to know" basis, just like it is for their customers and dealers.   ::)

I can't really see whats under the lid but I wonder if the "no gap" tank let a little water in and an extra seal fixed a possible water problem with a small gap issue being a by-product.
