GaryArt1 sounds like you've been around the block a few times and use your head for more than a place to put your helmet.
The flip side though is when you put a 100MPH 17k Zero next to a 150MPH 9k naked bike on the showroom floor it's a harder sale.
I had thought of putting them in high end bicycle shops but then they aren't set up for repairs on motorcycles.
Good old Hollywood Electrics is the only dealer I know of who has Zero as their bread and butter main brand. If I weren't on the east coast they would get all my business.
NEW2elec, thanks for the compliment and you hit the nail on the head. In NY, we have 2 Zero dealerships, both multi-brands, both very different. The first one is a high end dealership that carries mostly Ducatis BMWs and other high end bikes. When you walk into the showroom you are overwhelmed with the shiny high end super bikes. They have two Zeros and at least one is last year's model. They were even hard to find. Would they sell me one, yes. Would they rather spend their time selling one of the other bikes, definitely. Kind of reminds me of when I walked into a RV dealership with all the motor homes and asked about buying a Pop up camper. Compound this with another forum member telling me this dealership has had some issues with poor support from Zero and you have a a poor place for Zero. Now the other Zero dealership is about double the distance from me. They are a multi-sport dealership dedicated to electric products. So they have electric scooters, skateboards and likewise. Their top product is the zero motorcycles and they have about 15 bikes of every model. They are committed to electric sports and Zero. Though this is not a traditional motorcycle dealer this is a dealership that really wants to promote electric bikes. Zero is the top of the line product These guys are extremely knowledgable on Zeros and committed to the company. They even helped represent Zero in the NY motorcycle show and are excited about flying out to Zero this month for the "big reveal". So though this is a "multi-brand" dealership and double the distance from me as the other dealer, this is where I am considering buying my bike. Would I rather it be a sole Zero dealership, yes but this is the closest we will get here until Zero becomes as common as Honda, Harley, Yamaha, etc.
