Fast charging: Cables and adapters: confused already?
« on: August 17, 2018, 05:43:09 PM »

So, Currently I have 2 ways of charging my Zero <in Europe, so no J-plugs>:

* standard socket Zero (1,3kW charging) to Suko                      - HOME charging (3,7kW available without other consumers)
* standard socket Zero (1,3kW charging) to Mennekes type 2     - public charging (2-16kW available, mostly 11kW)

Clear, it works.
But now, I go for 6,6kW fast charging Diginow instead of standard 1,3kW charger (in bellypan).

For Europe Diginow will supply Mennekes Type 2 (female?).
Our public chargers are Mennekes (female, so no pistol, we have to bring it with us)

<< public chargers >16kW will have pistols themselves, but don't know if Diginow can communicate with it? Normal Zero 6,6kW charge tank doesn't I believe from forums??  >>

Wich 2 kabels are needed now for home and public?
There are 1 fase, 3 fase, 16A, 32A -> all are really costly:  >300 euro for both at least....

If you're interested I happen to have a 1,5m Mennekes cable for sale in the Netherlands. The Diginow v2 had no problem with both 11-22kW and 43kW stations so I guess it's safe to assume that the new version also has IEC 61851 support.

That's more for if you want to charge everywhere, also on campings and industrial outlets. If you're just looking at charging stations you just need a 3-phase Mennekes cable and an adapter for the outlet in the garage.

Thx; and for a 3Phase I should need the 16A version or 32A version (does it mean 3x16A or 16A total) ?

That is indeed 16A per phase so you can max out your charger.

Yes, I think Diginow configures for Mennekes Type 2 with one 3.3kw charging brick per phase, for 9.9kw total, so you can use the 11kw stations or the 22 kw stations.

Zero Chargetank is 6kw single phase, so you can only use the 22 kw stations.

Europeans with Diginow experience will correct me if I've mistated, I'm sure.

Yes it is configured for 3 phase. The CT will work on 11kW stations just at half the speed.
