Hello,
I am new to EV and found a good deal on this motor:

and this controller:

With the right battery, would this provide enough power to convert a gas powered motorcycle? From what I'm seeing it looks like it might be a bit underpowered. I know there are lots of variables but just looking for some advice from those that have done projects. Could I get away with it in a lighter bike or is it even worth investing time with this combo in a bike frame?

My son-in-law had a 3000W hub motor setup on a bicycle. It was good for about 45 mph but the bicycle's brakes were not quite up to the task.    And when his NiCad batteries (that were hanging all over the bike) faded, pedaling the thing just about gave him a heart attack.  Anyway, my comment would be that you would really have to gear that motor down for it to move a typical IC motorcycle down the road so that it could carry both you and also climb a hilly street. I  bet you would be limited to about 25 mph with a motorcycle chassis. But I am just guessing so I will let the more experienced members of this forum provide more informative comments.

1 horsepower = 750 watts, so your 3000W motor is only good for 4 hp. For putting around a town without hills, maybe. Not going to work for anything else.
