« on: July 24, 2018, 02:52:09 AM »

Hello,

I just replaced the Headlights"URBAN" by a Truck-Lite round LED model.
Feel free to come back to me if you want technical information or others.

Good road

I'd like to know how you mounted it for the wiki. Thanks!

Me too, his mount looks pretty neat, like a fork mount bracket, and post mountable bucket (single bolt underneath).  That was one of the routes I was going to take but I wanted to retain the shroud around the instrument cluster.

It looks a lot like the stock headlight on my 2013 FX

Looks great - we definitely need more pictures and a mention of mounting process or issues as approved LED assemblies are likely to be attractive.

Hello,

Find below how I changed the face of my Zero:
The first action is to move the pile of wires and connectors located behind the headlight under the compartment of the "tank" see photos and to realise a sheathing the wires to redirect the cables to the front.
Then it is necessary to realize a plate of fixation not provided by the provider and  I used and modified the support of the original (Photo).
On the other hand I had to go down the turns signal because otherwise they touch  the "tank".
Here is a picture with the dipped headlights and lights of the new lighthouse.
The lower part of the headlight lights up when the high beam is on. On the other hand I have not yet tested at night ...

Caracteristics of the Truck-Lite LED Headlight

Lower current requirement means less drain on the alternator, thus reducing consumption.
Low beam, high beam and parking light
12 V 31/18 W
Dimensions: Dia. approx. 177 mm, depth approx. 97 mm
Fits in many 7-inch
Sturdy, coated polycarbonate lens
Die-cast aluminium housing conforms to US military standards
Metallized reflector for clear, sharp illumination
Encapsulated electronics protect against corrosion and vibration (important for vehicles that are subject to powerful vibrations)
H4 connector
E-approved
Due to the illumination which is developed for right-hand traffic, it is not recommended to use this headlight in left-hand traffic.

Very neat! Do you have a shot of the light pattern on a wall?

I'm also curious about what you used for the headlight bezel since that doesn't appear to be part of the kit on Truck-Lite's website.

Looks great, Gil!

I installed this fairly common LED by spending way too much time welding up traditional side brackets.  Loved the 5 3/4" round style but didn't appreciate the stressed wiring while trying to keep everything up front; thanks for showing how to relocate most of the wiring under the tank where it's far less exposed to the elements.  Had to add disconnects from the front ABS signals, but otherwise everything just barely fit even with the extra heated grip wiring.
