What I do with my dirty textile jackets and pants is to take them out in the backyard, hang them up, spray them with Simple Green, hose them off with a stiff water spray and then let them air dry on the hanger. I take out the foam pads. Wash it in the washing machine.. toss it in the dryer (low heat) and done.

Ive done that to all my textile gear for 15+ years without issue...

I do the same, minus the dryer because I don't have one.

What Mr_Dude describes is pretty much what Aerostich recommends with their gear.  They do have additional caveats:
1) Use powder detergent (the exception being the Nik-Wax process used to refresh/renew the fabric waterproofing)
2) Close ALL of the zippers.  I think this is to protect the Gore-Tex laminate on the inner side of the garment.

Andy (Goldfine, the owner of Aerostich) also says he only washes his gear once a year.  That's pretty much what I do too... Once a year at the start of the riding season I'll use the Nik-Wax products to wash and refresh the water-proofing for the year.

Pretty much universally, hang drying out of the sun is better for fabrics than machine drying.
