I've owned maybe 6 or 8 helmets over the last 40 years, but I like the Davida Jet the best.  Very quiet, especially with a bubble shield attached (even more-so than any full-face I've had).  Also, on very cold mornings, there is less of a tendency for the shield to fog up, compared to the full-face helmet that I used to wear. Finally, I find that it's the only helmet I've ever had that I have purposely not kept in the garage. It's just too beautiful.  I fondle that thing when I'm having my morning tea and watching TCM on the PVR, just like it was a Hasselblad or a Leica.

On a negative, it's leather lined, so it gets a tad hot in the summer.  For the warmer days, I take the bubble off, and use Leon Jeantet goggles (they're specifically made for the Davida helmets). I don't do a lot of highway riding, so I don't have to worry about a June Bug ruining my day.

On another negative, the Davidas are fairly expensive.

I know; the open-face helmets are not nearly as safe as full-faces.  And I should know better, since the only accident I've ever been in left a scar on my chin (even with a full-face).  But I'm a shallow aesthete, and I'm not likely to change any time soon.

For the past 5 years I've head a Schuberth C3 and I'm still fond of it. Pretty quiet on the motorway, adequate ventilation even in the summer, the build in sun visor is very handy and the integrated cardo/bluetooth/fm radio is a godsend on long trips and for navigation.

I LOVE my Nolan N44, it's several helmets in one.  In the winter I wear it as a full face with the jawpiece in place and the face shield.  In the summer, I wear it as an open face if the forecast is clear, otherwise I'll put the face shield on to protect my face.  I also have the integrated N-COM bluetooth unit installed so I can listen to my tunes on my smartphone, or the turn-by-turn instructions from Google Navigator.

By the way, in my profile photo I'm wearing the N44's predecessor, the N43 Trilogy.  I like the LOOKS of the N43 better, but the N44 is a better helmet all around.

I love my Bell Vortex with transition visor with the American Volunteer Group (aka Flying Tigers) graphics.  While the visor isn't cheap, it is absolutely fantastic.  I don't have to carry any extras based on light level (day vs night) and I don't lose padding for a shaded insert in the top/front.

I like my Shoei Neotech modular helmet when I go touring.  For local trips, I use a cheap Scorpion full-face helmet.

Schuberth C3 Pro in high visibility yellow to match my Olympia one piece yellow riding suit. Just submitted it to Schuberth for warranty replacement of the chin skirt (peeling) and top vent bracket mount (cracked after cleaning). Plus, they just started a loaner program this year for daily riders!

For about 8 years I went through 3 HJC carbon helmets. They were some of the first "raw carbon" helmets on the market... and they just fit my head shape perfect. They're HJCs top of the line helmets too, not their cheap ones.  It was quiet, it fit right, cool with vents open, warm with them closed for winter.
Most importantly, when I was rear-ended on the interstate at speed, it worked.
So I bought another.
That one took at 40mph faceplant down concrete without issue.
So I bought another.
That one I kept but stopped using due to age.

Currently I am rocking the Bell Star RSD Blast. I wanted to give Bell a try since they also fit me well and they have the tint-changing visor. I saw the Roland Sands Design paintjob and had to have that one... I had a hell of a time finding it in stock anywhere. lol Its my first helmet with a "cool paint job" but I really like it.

I also have the limited edition rossi "the donkey" helmet that I used to let girls wear when they're with me... uhh.. long before I met my wife. She got a brand new Arai from me before we rode.

I've been wearing Shoei RF series helmets since 2011, when I first started riding. They are a good fit for my head shape. The new 2017 RF 1200 has many improvements over the earlier models: reduced wind noise, less fogging with the inner face shield insert, even with the visor closed and easily removable padding to get the helmet off after an accident. I always replace my helmet every five years. I have no need for bluetooth for tunes because I want to hear whats going on with the bike and the traffic (very light where I ride) as most of my riding is at 70 to 75 mph. I prefer having an ear bud from my Escort Solo S3 radar detector in one ear and a Heroes ear plug in the other. These helmets aren't "cheap" (but also not the most pricey). I tend to buy new ones during the black Friday sales as they are rarely offered at a discount.
