That’s what it said which I thought was strange because I didn’t ride it hard at all compared to my usual riding. But even at a temp of 93 F it still won’t charge. A friend suggested looking at fuses.
I made the mistake of trying to quick charge my 2017 Zero DS ZF 6.5 just after a hard ride on a very hot day (107F). I had the bike in the extra hot garage and tried to quick charge right away, using both the on-board charger and one quick-charger.
At first, everything looked normal. It was charging. A half hour later, not only would the bike no longer charge, the bike would not run even after I disconnected everything. I waited for several hours and it still would not charge and would not run. A totally dead bike. I had eight error messages on the display.
I read the unofficial service manual carefully and found out about the two reset buttons behind the rubber cover that is just behind the front wheel. I tried one and then the other, no help. Then I did a total reset by pressing in both buttons at the same time for a few seconds. All errors cleared and then the bike would charge and run normally.
And now I am more careful about trying to charge the battery when it feels extra warm or hot to touch. And on very hot days, I charge outside in the shade.
