Any tips for tire removal? I got my first flat and cant get the lip of the tire off. Ive changed car tires with prybars yet cant get the damn lip up on the zero. Any tips? The front was not this bad.

I usually use a c clamp to pinch the tire to be sure the bead falls in the troth of the rim on the end I'm not prying on. Not sure if the stiffness of the tire is an issue for you though...

Got a note from Zero.

"I just spoke with the guys in the shop and they say that the factory puts a sealer on the tire and it is really hard to break the bead loose.
They said its best to sit the wheel in the sun and warm it up then break the bead. Once you break the bead you should be able to get a long tire lever under the bead to get the tire off. One of the guys in the shop said that he uses a vice to break the bead loose."


So about the same as what you said. But my problem seem to be the tire is so tight on the rim I can't get under it.

They must use an adhesive to keep the tire from spinning on the rim.
Which means they do not use a rim lock like Dirt bikes use.

You may want to ask Zero what to do after you break that adhesive bead.
Does the adhesive re-stick to itself when the tire is re-installed?
If it does not re-adhere, doe the tire then spin and cut off your valve stem?

Maybe you can add a rim lock, but that would throw your balance off (big deal if this is a street version - not if its dirt only).

Big pain if your on the trail and get a flat tire. you need to sit there with the tire in the sun.
What if it's a cold day out on the trail.
