Front brake lever
« on: September 28, 2016, 12:58:11 AM »

I am wanting to change the front brake lever on my 2015 fx to a shorter one.  Does anyone know what other bikes use a lever that will work.

I searched Google Images till I found a lever that looked exactly like my '14 FX's (Emgo 30-64881, took about 20 minutes to be certain about it), then cut off the ball end and re-attached it to the (shortened) lever end.  Your '15 lever will surely be different, but the same search & mod techniques should work.

Oh, interesting! Let's see if we can find other fits based on that.

If you are going to cut the new one anyway, Why not just order a replacement
Zero one and cut IT?

I looked high and low but couldn't find anything compatible. The part # for '15 FX ('16 should be the same) is 25-08031. Price is $60 USD!?! All other parts I've bought have been very reasonably priced.

Yeah, that's real high.  The 10-05717 lever for my bike was $40 (it was part of a big order, I didn't even notice the price until I saw the invoice).  The Emgo was basically identical, for less than 1/5 the price.

I've added a brake lever section on the wiki with this finding, hoping for more:
