I have had my 2016 Zero S for a little over 2 months and have put over 4000 miles on it so far. I have been noticing an increase in vibrations on my handlebars. I remember feeling a little vibration when I rode it home new but now it is getting unbearable and causing pain in my hands. I have tried putting on gel grips as well as heavy bar ends but nothing seems to work and it seems as if it's getting worse. A few hundred miles ago I noticed a weird sound when I accelerated above 20mph that sounded like a tweet tweet tweet but I didn't hear it today but it was kinda windy with wind noise. I have read on this forum about the lack of vibrations compared to ICE bikes but mine feels like one or worse than my ICE bikes. What do you think could be causing this?

Check your belt! It's probably misaligned. Zeros definitely don't vibrate.

Someone else had some vibration issues that were caused by a bad front tire.  Trying to rebalance didn't fix the issue...the tire had to be replaced. I think it was just a lemon. I would take the bike to the dealer and let them ride it....you definitely shouldn't have vibration.

I had a bad issue with my front bearing (SR 2014). As you notices, vibrations on the handlebars which at first were intermittent but became more and more permanent and strong and the weird sound became as well permanent.
Even if the 2016 models may have stronger bearing (I heard that from a dealer), don't wait too long to go to your dealer, because it can fail promptly. When it happened for me I was on highway and my front wheel nearly blocked. It was very scaring and dangerous!

The belt is aligned as far as matching the marks on the swingarm. Belt tension in 20kg and within spec.

What do you mean when you said your front wheel nearly blocked? Sounds scary.

Correct! Any vibration is abnormal.

Zero's don't vibrate.  I would check the front wheel/tire for balance asap.

It's also possible for the tyre to be out of round. No amount of balancing will fix that!
Is the tyre beed even on the rim?

I had my front Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 on my 2015 SR changed to a brand new Metzeler on warranty because of vibrations. It made a world of difference- now i can relax my hands at any speed without worrying that the bike will be unstable.

I was told i had the third or fourth bike in a short period of time coming in for that very same reason, however these were all SR's which may indicate a flawed batch of tires. I've never heard this was the case with the S models, however i'd reccomend checking.

Wonder if he solved the issue. Like others have said, it sounds like it could be a tire/balance issue or a bad bearing. Could it be an issue with the forks/front end suspension?

I was told i had the third or fourth bike in a short period of time coming in for that very same reason, however these were all SR's which may indicate a flawed batch of tires. I've never heard this was the case with the S models, however i'd reccomend checking.

The Zero S uses Pirelli Sport Demons.  Only the SR and FXS use the Rosso 2's.  However, I have had two sets of Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2's and haven't had any issues so I do think it was probably just a bad batch.

How did you get the tire replaced under warranty?  Did you have an aftermarket warranty through the dealer or did Zero replace the tire?

I got this warranted by the dealer. Note that there are pretty strict laws for consumer purchases in norway. Cost of purchase reflects this. I took the bike to the dealer which took it for a test ride, then there were few questions asked.
