Nice job Terry! I'm struggling to keep my energy consumption down to 100Wh/mi on the highway....
You look like a pretty skinny guy, Ben. With no dog and your minimal cargo, I bet you could beat Terry if you took the time to do it. Especially if you left the three heavy chargers behind for the test.
Terry, did you have the supercharger onboard?
No I removed the supercharger as well as took off my top and side cases for the run. Not because of aero drag, but because of weight. Rolling resistance from energy used to squeeze the tire rubber as the wheel turns is the highest form of drag under 25 mph. At 28 psi the best I could get was 45 wh/mile. At 42 psi I got under 40 riding the same exact route. After taking off some weight of the cases and supercharger, and going a little higher on the tire pressure I got 32 wh/mile on the loop I take charger to the dog beach in the early morning. So with that setup with regular riding with traffic around Santa Cruz county I had 38 wh/mile after the almost 237 miles.
No doubt Ben could do better without carrying a dog lol. But he has the 2014 battery, so it would be close. Someone with a 2016 S with a powertank has the best shot to be the first to break 250 on a stock bike.
