Well, I very much like the color scheme I picked. It's a gorgeous seat, no two ways about it.
I'm not quite as convinced with the shape just yet. I imagine there's some variation in any handmade product, and I didn't ride up to Hollister for a custom fitting, but my experience with the shape has been a bit different than Terry's. Mine seems very flat front to back (front seat only), and if anything, it's either a little higher or compresses less under my weight (I'm a big guy), so my feet are actually a bit further from the ground than on the stock seat...which is fine for me, I can still get both feet flat, but for shorter riders I don't think the seat I got would offer any help. Then again, I didn't ask them to make it shorter, or lower the front.
I do very much like the rounded "shoulders" on the front part of the seat. It's much easier to keep my knees in out of the windstream, which I'm sure gives at least a small range improvement. But toward the rear of the front seat are two small bolsters on the sides, which I don't like at all. The increased amount of foam results in an odd "double-scoop" effect on the front portion which is just not ideal, at least for me. I think I'd be happier if they just continued the rounded shoulders all the way to the end of the front portion of the seat. That would be pretty much the perfect seat for me.
One of the benefits of getting a seat from Corbin is the opportunity for customization. I'm going to ride it for a bit more and then decide if I want to send it back for a bit of tweaking. But if you have the opportunity, you really should go to the factory and try out some of the options they have available. Nothing substitutes for a good test-sit.
