I definitely shift around on the stock seat during any 200+ day of riding.  The 2012 seat was nice because sliding forward and backward allowed a variety of positions (and pressure points).  The 2013+ seats definitely push you forward a bit.

Looking forward to the Corbin seat!

Awesome guys, I'll bet you can't wait!  The black with red piping and black with silver sounds awesome!! I can't wait to see all these different combinations on Zero's! I went with black and blue piping and love it!

btw I rode 518 miles the other day to Solvang and back from Santa Cruz and it was so much better than the stock seat!  I could have kept going and going!!

There's some good pictures of the seat, and charging with the supercharger for those interested here:

Scroll back to the posts from May 12th.

Here's a picture from May 12th charging at moonstone beach. You can see a good angle of the seat here.

I bought the heated seat from Zero.  As a year round commuter there is no way I can go back to a seat without heat.

Can the seat from Corbin be order with a heating element?  I saw this in the notes tab of Corbin's web page for the Zero seat.

Quote
WARNING: Heater elements (when available) should never be installed in motorcycle seats that will be used by riders that cannot sense heat. This could create a hazardous condition.

However, I couldn't find an option when ordering to make it a heated seat.

Has anyone order a seat with heat?  What about adding a heating element after purchase...can it be done?

With this seat using real leather...can it survive year round weather?

I'm officially very happy with my black/black/black with a silver welt. Sorry she's a little bit filthy, but we got caught in a rain shower yesterday, and instead of today being bath day, it was new seat day!

Not too happy with the shape of the new Corbin,
liked what I had on my 2011 Zero S Corbin.

So I ordered one "like new" from Ohio on ebay,
will try to fit a 2012 Zero S Corbin seat to my
2014 Zero S.  It'll let me sit forward like the
current seat but also scoot my butt back to
a flatter section for variety and tucking.

It's not ideal for carrying a passenger, so I'll
probably keep both, configured for quick-change.

But it sure is good to see Corbin supporting
Zero customers and Zero customers supporting
Corbin!

Has anybody actually received their Corbin or heard back from them after ordering?

Looks like Doug got his and is happy with it.  My order was mixed up but they fixed it that day so it should come in just fine.  Haven't heard from the yet and it has been 3 weeks so far.

Well, I very much like the color scheme I picked. It's a gorgeous seat, no two ways about it.

I'm not quite as convinced with the shape just yet. I imagine there's some variation in any handmade product, and I didn't ride up to Hollister for a custom fitting, but my experience with the shape has been a bit different than Terry's. Mine seems very flat front to back (front seat only), and if anything, it's either a little higher or compresses less under my weight (I'm a big guy), so my feet are actually a bit further from the ground than on the stock seat...which is fine for me, I can still get both feet flat, but for shorter riders I don't think the seat I got would offer any help. Then again, I didn't ask them to make it shorter, or lower the front.

I do very much like the rounded "shoulders" on the front part of the seat. It's much easier to keep my knees in out of the windstream, which I'm sure gives at least a small range improvement. But toward the rear of the front seat are two small bolsters on the sides, which I don't like at all. The increased amount of foam results in an odd "double-scoop" effect on the front portion which is just not ideal, at least for me. I think I'd be happier if they just continued the rounded shoulders all the way to the end of the front portion of the seat. That would be pretty much the perfect seat for me.

One of the benefits of getting a seat from Corbin is the opportunity for customization. I'm going to ride it for a bit more and then decide if I want to send it back for a bit of tweaking. But if you have the opportunity, you really should go to the factory and try out some of the options they have available. Nothing substitutes for a good test-sit.
