1. Heated grips
2. Helmet lock.

Otherwise she is purrfect!

I was told to lock my helmet by putting the d-rings in the clasp that holds the storage bag.

That does not fit my helmet, so I have a small cable that I loop.  Zero could relocate.

1. How about make the storage bag, just a trunk with a plastic hatch that locks.
2. Or make a larger version of the storage bag, that is like a traditional tank bag.

One of the features that I liked about the Vectrix that I tested years ago was its back-up "gear".  My recollection is that when at a stop you turned the throttle forward, beyond closed, and the motor would back the scooter up slowly.  A very handy idea. Vectrix had a lot of good ideas.  Too bad they couldn't sell enough product to make a long-term go of it.   :(

I wish Zero would copy the Vectrix 'throttle'.  The regen and reverse is great.

I think Vetrix has a patent.

That shouldn't stop Zero. Hopefully they could license it, although I'm surprised you can patent such a simple feature. Has Vetrix gone bust? If so, can the patent just be ignored?

The Vectrix IP (lot 1C) was not sold during the chapter 7 auction.
But the patent still shows as paid for
http://www.google.com/patents/US6724165
In fact the latest payment shows October 2015!
Perhaps the patents transferred to the primary investor (Gold Peak)?
And that's probably the reason we didn't see it on any other bike...

Pity because it is simply the best solution.

A little more Google work seems to support my theory:

http://www.bloomberg.com/Research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapid=183598036

Vectrix International Limited designs and manufactures electric scooters. The company is based in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong. As of July 8, 2015, Vectrix International Limited operates as a subsidiary of GP Battery Technology (HK) Limited.

Please note that the Vectrix chapter 7 was March 2014

1. Heated grips
2. Helmet lock.

Otherwise she is purrfect!
in that case, you're in luck.
You can add both of those easily.

I have a work around for the helmet lock.

How do you add heated grips? Do tell.

Thank you for any information that will keep my hands warm.

Oxford heaterz work great. Wire up to an SAE connector and plug in to the SAE accessory connector found in a wire bundle under the tank plastic. The tank plastic will have to be removed to find the accessory connector.

You add heated grips exactly like you add them to every other motorcycle.
You replace the grips with ones that have heating elements in them, then wire them up.
The only difference is instead of connecting it to a battery, you connect them to the accessory power.. the SAE connector or tap a fused connection off the fuse box.

For 2017 I'd like to see:

-Lower prices for all models
-Extend the warranty time which shows confidence in your own product and helps reassure customers
-Establish a Zero dealership/warehouse/repair center in the east coast so people from the east don't always have to wait for shipping from the west coast for parts/repairs.
-Extended range/capacity/more power
-Faster charging times standard
-Louder horn
-Throw in a "freebie" with every purchase, giving the customer an option between a free helmet (perhaps with the Zero name on it?), free windscreen, free gloves, or free grips, etc...
-Better quality tires on all models or at least an upgrade option for more premium quality tires
-Offer all models in various color schemes without having to pay a premium for it

A Li-ion 12V battery that keeps accessories running and boots charging circuits when main power is off. Charging circuits for the Charge Tank could run through a switch (but not require the main key) if the standby current is too large. Bluetooth could be available continuously, and maybe WiFi could be added.

What about hiding a momentary switch bypassing the ignition to on?  you could keep the forks locked and it would not be rideable

A more futuristic design. We ride a futuristic bike looking bland and uninspiring IMHO. I'd like a "wow!" inducing design, that people will know how cool is the bike even before realizing it's even cooler.
