It seems to me that Zero is waiting to see how the political winds shift before making formal pricing announcements.
It seems to me that we are just making things up now, not sure how the 2 are even remotely related at all.

I hope they put a better filter on the motor.
This will reduce the electric noise from the motor.
It will make the driving experience on  specially low speed better.

At low speed you can hear this noise. Its like noise from an frequency converter.

I guess you could say that the price of the 2017 models might be affected by Congress.  They would have to extend the current 10% income tax electric motorcycle credit for next year. If they don't the credit will expire.  If I recall correctly, Zero tends to include that credit when quoting their retail prices.   ???

I like it.  It sounds futuristic and reminds me of "The Jetsons."

I just found this on the Internet:
http://motonew2017.com/electric-motorcycle-zero-s-2017/

The release date of the article is odd though.
What do you think of the "new" design?
Those are pics of 2012 models....or maybe 2011. The current look started in 2013 and I'm certain the look won't change much for 2017...just some refinements at most.

Zero has already told pricing to dealers on Oct 19.  Just waiting for EICMA for announcement to the general public.

Wow, even for a non-English native speaker the grammar on that site hurts the eyes ;)

I don't hear any electric noise, only the noise from the belt and a high-pitched whine form the motor, which most audible and is somewhat annoying between 15-20mph, but not there a very low speeds and not an issue at higher speeds. I don't think this noise is electric though, I think it is mechanical - from bearings and air resistance, I'm guessing... I'd like it gone too, just don't think an electric filter will deal with it.

I hope they put a better filter on the motor.

Saw a wish for LED headlight and turn signals. LED headlight is a no brainer. It is annoying to say the least to immediately do this update for $60.

More annoying is that LED turn signals are not DOT approved so a manufacturer cannot sell them. Euro bikes have to replace OEM LED turn signals with incandescent just to make them DOT legal. Ever notice how the USA OEM turn signals are all the same? Write your ombudsman... there is a form around here somewhere.

Well , in my job I test electrical motors every day. Both frequency driven motors and direct driven motors from the nett.
I have had this job for 8 years now and I know you can hear a difference.

And do those dealers have NDAs?  There's a very big difference between announcing MSRP to interested media show-goers for public announcement and the expected slate for dealers to do their planning with.

Not sure what you mean by this.  Dealers are already ordering demo models.

Less than 2 weeks and all will be revealed....then we can start the 2018 thread....haha

When I test rode a 2016 SR, back in March I think, my dealer told me if I wanted one they would order it from the factory and wouldn't sell the demo until later in the year.  Basically dealers only had to keep two demo bikes which limited their inventory costs which is a good  deal for them and customers get a factory fresh bike.

I think that model worked out well so dealers should really just pick a couple of demo bikes and get "butts on bikes" and let them sell their selves.

Anything that has not been announced to the public is much more easily changed without loss of face.

You're being rather obtuse.
