Possibly the worst review of all time
« on: March 10, 2016, 02:16:28 PM »

This would have to be the worst review article I've ever read.  This guy doesn't know the basics of the product, is unable to think ahead, doesn't know what aerodynamics are and provides no context for what he's looking for in a bike.  They should have called this one a mulligan for operator error and either scraped or extended the review period.

What's the worst review you've ever read?

Stream-of-consciousness review. More about writing an interesting story. Guy acknowledges being an "impetuous asshat" but doesn't really do any more self-reflection.

Problem is, the review wasn't written from the perspective of a self-interested owner (or trying to inform the same). Can you imagine a cell phone review that mostly consisted of trying to hunt places to plugin? Or a sportbike review of how the author entered a hare scramble?

Written properly, I would not only read this... I would enjoy this.

Pretty awesome to be sure. But can you imagine someone trying to do a serious review of this bike, taking it on roads rougher than fire trails or sinking it in mud up to the radiator and then crying about how it wasn't suitable for the job?

I like this article.  It is very true about the drawbacks of this excellent bike. (BTW best I owned over 30....)

The ultra slow speed of charge is a pain.  It could fully charge in 2.5h on a simple plug in the US and in 1. 5h in Europe with a decent on board charger.

A+

Saturday, 6:55PM: ... he mentions EV's don't like highways because they can't use regenerative braking ....
Uh .. not exactly.

I wonder if one of the small diginow tank chargers could be adapted to the FX "tank" area even if it sticks out a bit ? :)

Me too. Hes not hating the bike, but unknowingly giving us a very realistic view of the expectations and reality of a current EV with non-EV savvy common riders.

at no time does he hate the bike, and he does admit he could have avoided the problems by plugging in overnight...  he forgot, but if he owned the bike, he probably would not forget again.... unless hes totally irresponsible. You know the kind of person thats always late for work, forgets about things, etc.  They do exist, and they do ride too.

yeah, it bothers me too. There is no reason the FX coudlnt have 1200w of charging now. I realize initially it just had two 58v meanwells because thats what fit (650w or so), but there has to be a way to fit something that uses the full potential of an electrical outlet. I have a 1200w homemade charger sitting next to me that is small enough (but not the right shape).

can you fit two more meanwell 58's under the tank area ? Looks like there might be some room under there :D
