The French do march to a different drummer when it comes to their taste in single-track electric vehicles.  Good thing the World market doesn't follow their lead or things would be really tough for Zero and Brammo/Victory.

Why do they list the ZF and the s differently? ZF considered fleet bike or do they just not know the models? Or I dont???

Slightly confused about the listing, but it has been a "toy of rich" as many say, eventually people will relize that they cost similar to any new comparable bike new for new...

I think it's likely that ZF is a catch-all classification. ie they look at a Zero FX and see ZF 5.7 FX and just classify it as ZF. Same thing with a SR ZF13.

Disappointing to see French sales decline in 2015, but I suspect points more towards difficulties with the French market or importer than anything else.

BMW C-Evolution seems to be doing quite well, for a regional market. BMW sold a total of 12k bikes. The C Evolution was 3% of their total unit sales in 2015 .. and it outsold the C650 GT, and the C 650 Sport doesn't even show up on the top 50 listing. Very impressive performance from BMW.

C Evolution starts at 15.400,00 € - not a huge jump over the base C 650 Sport at 11.350,00 €.

The US is a very different market from France, but very interesting to see significant success for the first real electric offering from a traditional manufacturer.

yeah, ZF is a general indicator (gawd knows why, but all their bikes have the ZF). I've only seen it in France. As for their lower sales, I think it has to do with the organization and management. Although they changed the CEO for France, it's still a bit all over the place. There are way too few dealers, and dealers will not sign on if they need to dash out a lot of money with very little initial return. If you are in the market for an electric motorcycle or scooter, but need to use a truck to get to the dealer, you're not going to do it.

Which is why the Beemer is successful. In the cities, scooters are the predominant species, used mostly by business folks escaping traffic jams. There is usually a BMW dealer within some 50 km (on average), so it makes sense. Throw into the hat the fact they have a sweet leasing deal, and you're in business.

Other reason is that French market has usually the "wait and see how it works" habit... Trusting a relatively new brand (BMW is not) is not a current mindset, whatever the warranty is..
 We have the same reaction here (in French Polynesia about 3/4 of the potential buyers are french) as many says "super, but is it tropical friendly?, " or "I wait to see if the brand is expanding"...

If one day ZERO makes a e-scooter equivalent 125cc, just 1 model , same size that the BMW, with their design, we will sell plenty here --> Tmax is over 70 / year... mainly commuters doing 20 to 40Km a day/5 times a week... They like the ZERO but want more storage principally for the helmet or for some groceries on the way back...
