SEARCHING FOR THE E-SCOOTER eq 250/400 and MX bikes
« on: December 25, 2015, 05:25:34 AM »

Hi everybody!

Already 1 year for our business project based on importing/selling only top quality e-motorbikes and e-scooters.

We have ZERO for road/scrambler motorbikes, Electric Motion and OSET for Trial (1st for adults/2nd for kids), GOVECS for small scooters (eq 50/125).

Last 2 niches hard to find and demanded by our customers are "maxi scooters" (not the BMW) and MX bikes (light but powered like 250)

If anybody knows a brand for that (not major like BMW/KTM), we would appreciate.

Thank you.

Merry Christmas

Why no BMW? Their maxi scooter is a really good one.

Since I have never been to Tahiti and probably never will, how about posting a photo or two of your shop?   :)

Why not BMW? Because there is a big BMW dealer here, not able to import it at this stage (don't know the reason yet) , so I don't think we'll be able to get it.
We have looked towards ZEV (West virginia /USA), but no sufficient reports about volume produced/ practical warranty/ doubt on general quality of frame /suspension. Anybody riding those on a daily basis?
We are looking West now, towards China, for their top end products (don't laugh they are improving!), but info on internet are not precise, so we want to go there on their annual 2 wheels expo and check with our required specifications. 100 miles range/ 70mph/110 Km/h max speed, and decent storage, not only for battery!

Sorry for the shop, selling before dirt bikes only and gear/parts, under renovation, so we are doing expo in city/mall/airport waiting for a better showroom.
Picture with Batman on Black S, and Santa Girl on SR took last week in city center located at PK "Zero"!!!
Anyway we are not going for an exclusive ZERO showroom, Tahiti is small!. Check our Facebook page / ZEM Tahiti!

Oh that sucks, you could try to import one yourself from New Zealand or some other place where you get a lot of ships from.

For the other category, maybe the Redshift MX?

Alta Motors Redshift MX looks good, but is not ready to produce yet.

Understood first delivery restricted to California in the next months. And at 15 000$, you can get 2 250 YZF !!

Hope they will quickly go on a serious production, then reduce the tag price, and then think about overseas sales!

Sounds like we have to wait for 2017, at least...

I've been riding ZEV LRC 10 for 2 years now, though only 5000km covered due to reasons not related to the bike.
You can read my review and a bit of discussion here http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=4572.0.
To summarize it - the bike works pretty well, but the build quality is quite average or below, ZEROs for example look way more rigid and polished. Battery indicator is a digital voltage meter - super non-linear and takes time and practice to properly evaluate to "charge left" or "distance left". Bike initially was badly weather-protected in terms of batteries, not sure it this has significantly improved now but I remember they have recently removed the front vent which was a part of the issue. I have personally worked around this by disassembling the body and covering all the batteries with a plastic fabric. Batteries do not heat much, at least I never noticed. Warranty has been very good so far, every part which broke has been replaced for no charge. I had issues with the import process which are related specifically to my country. Charger is external and bulky, ~5kg, though it fits in the giant underseat compartment (which fits two integral helmets, a very nice feature).

All in all - good value for money, probably cannot get anything characteristically better or even close as good for that price (i'm talking about e-scooters), but not a premium product, so those who expect quality of Yamaha or BMW maxi-scooters will most likely be disappointed. I'd call it a product for eco-geeks with some money, like I'd call myself.
