2015 Bultaco Rapitan Finally Coming To Market
« on: November 17, 2015, 08:25:26 AM »

Looks like this bike that was reported by gizmag over a year ago is finally ready to ship by the end of this year.

Techco Article November 2015

Gizmag Article May 2014

I'm loving the storage tank big enough to fit a helmet but I am skeptical of the claims to performance on par with 1000cc bikes.  The size and shape of the tank look like it would be comfortable to lay forward while riding too.  If performance and price are on par with a Zero SR, consider me very interested.  Dealer support in the states could be a problem though. I wish Zero would put a tank/headlight/windscreen like this on the S/SR.

I am kinda digging the race bike look too.

Looks like top speed is only about 90mph. Range is about 70 miles highway and 125 miles city. So the performance isn't as good as a Zero.  Still loving the storage tank though.  Zero could easily make a tank/headlight/windscreen assembly like that and it could even be retrofit to older bikes....if they wanted to make it.

That "new" article seems to be a regurgitation of the original press release from last year.  The Bultaco website offers almost no details on the Raritan electric motorcycle, and focuses almost exclusively on the Brinco e-bike.  Would like to see them actually get in the game, but it doesn't look like they are producing electric motorcycles anytime soon.

Yeah, no surprise...that's the internet for you.

The FAQ section on their site says:

Where and when can I buy it?

The first units can be pre-ordered at the end of 2015.

Can I book my Rapitán now?

The first units can be pre-ordered at the end of 2014.

HA! So you you can pre-order the first units at the end of 2015 unless you want to book now in which case you can pre-order at the end of 2014.....  ::)

interesting model, but it's ugly.
An ugly bike will be more difficult to sell (my opinion)
Brands should start to fit the electric concept into a beautiful product.
