Still on for 20th.  Insurance sorted.  Day off from work booked.  The bike has been ready for some time now, just awaiting the DVLA.  I might get an update on that tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer Steve and I'd take you up on it if I had more time. I can't leave home until my son gets picked up by our childminder at 9 and I'm relying on a lift from Streetbike to get me at least two thirds of the way home. I'd better keep my first ride down to no more than 50 miles. It would be a classic if I didn't make it home!

I'm glad you've got a firm date now Justin.  The last few weeks have dragged by haven't they?

I was wondering how you were going to get all that way. I guess I'm lucky being only about 5 miles away from them.

Fair play to them for helping you out too. I've got to say, they have done nothing but impress me with all this.

You are lucky being so close Steve. You could get involved with some of their ride-outs if you wish. I have nothing but good things to say about Streetbike too. I know I do tend to mention them a lot, but it's a case of credit where it's due.

Gary, the proprietor, is a top man and he employs great people who are loyal to him. It's a rare and precious phenomenon and great to see. I find it quite humbling in some ways! If I had a boss even half the man I'd feel privileged.

So, by my reckoning, two of you should have picked your bikes up by now?

Also, has anyone heard any more about the subsidy?

Yeah, got my SR yesterday. Nothing about the Subsidy, still estimating April/March.

Very happy with mine Steve. I'm sure Justin is ecstatic about his new steed too.

I'm enjoying the DS more than I imagined I would. Check out my other posts. I'm now certain I prefer the DS over the S and I haven't taken it off-road yet. DSR versus SR must be a tough call.

The only thing I'm not ecstatic about is this weather. ( I should'nt grumble, as this rain is the same storm that dumped a metric shit ton of snow on the US east coast, which is far worse) Still I want some warm dry weather so I can really open up my new toy.
I tried to launch it off the lights yesterday, but the rear wheel broke free momentarily on the greasy road surface... Which is a good sign none the less.  ;D

Ha ha ha. Definitely a good sign. Can't see my old Pan doing that, even with a well-used back tyre

I'm glad it was just a momentary spin Justin. That thing will dump you like a golddigger discovering you haven't come into your inheritance, if you let it!
