Adoption of splashguard from a Honda CB650F
« on: September 24, 2015, 08:56:31 PM »

I've had an ongoing correspondence with a manufacturer of aftermarket parts in Lyon, France. They make a splash guard for the Honda CB650F that looked like it would fit the Zero S/SR. After sending them some measurements of the rear swingarm and wheel, they confirmed that the splash guard should fit.
I'm very interested in getting one to solve the skunk stripe issue before winter comes around but I am a little reluctant to pull the trigger on it since it is pretty expensive and the shipping will cost $50 each way.

This is a link to their product:

They also have one with an integrated license plate:

If someone lives close by and interested in a splash guard this could be an interesting thing to try and see if it works (would also be great if you can let us know about it)...

If I do pull the trigger and go for it, I'll let you guys know how it works out.

I've been looking for something like that too but with the addition of the top case the rear splash is not so bad.  I also didn't realize that a non universal splash guard can fit.  How about these not so expensive.

Sod the skunk stripe.
Its worth it more to cut down the spray that goes into the back of the monolith. There are a lot of connectors behind there, which while being waterproof, would be much much happier if they were not getting sprayed with foul salty winter road water...

(You would not believe the amount of grit and shite that I had to clean off the side of the Sevcon controller either.)

I specifically checked the measurements they had for the CB650F, I'm not sure the splash guards designed for other models will fit. There is a splash guard from bikerzbits for the 650f (https://bikerzbits.com/650f-mudguard.html) that is much cheaper but it fastens on to both the rear brake bolt and the rear axle bolt so I'm not sure if it will fit either...

I looked at my bike SR2014 and the rear swingarm has a recessed bolt and nut and I'm not sure if it will work either .  But you can always drill some more holes, if the bolt pattern on the access design can be copied it should work.
