so with this deal, with the 8000 credit for the 2012, how much more will we have to end up adding to our current loan for the 2014? I still owe about 2500 on mine.

Wow

Care to elaborate? I thought what I was offered was pretty reasonable given that my bike is virtually worthless on the local market. If Zero gave me £3000 for my 2012 I would be doing pretty well compared to what I would get selling privately, which would take weeks anyway.

Got my letter too . . .  but since I got the upgrade motor installed in my 2012 S ZF6, I am not really tempted.  Still waiting till they come out with a bike with a built-in fast charger compatible with Chademo or the Tesla system, and maybe a little more range.  Until then, my '12 S gets me to work and back just fine.

The trade in program is ONLY for street legal motorcycles if you have an off-road bike ZERO sold you have the ALL paperwork to accompany it..... They don't give a fuck about you!!!!!

I'm so stunned I dont even know If I want to continue to pursue riding zeros.... I own 4 MY 13 bikes and cant even count the number of pre 12 bikes I've had over quite a long period now...Very few have ever been street legal and the fact that

(Please read very carefully)
I volunteered to turn in 3 bikes for 2 taking a meesily 3000 and 3500 for all 3 of my bikes putting over 12k on top to trade them to 2014fx's.   They were all good and dandy until I said the bikes were off road.... They are leaving everyone without street legal pink hanging.

[EDIT:
i will re type this now gone  "harsh" paragraph is I get or don't get a new response...

....]

Unless they make this right I will be getting rid of my zeros and going to a better product with more support......

Coming from someone who owns more bikes than ANYONE at zero, and has been around longer than 75% of all their employees.... Shit look at zero motorcycles very first video...... My good friend was the first test rider for Electricross.....

Sad to see them turn their back on loyal customers.....

I sent them an email, and quoted the letter.
2 days later I received a very curt reply: NOT IN CANADA

Harlan is delivering my new 2014 DS ZF-11.4 to my shop today and hauling away the 2012 DS ZF-6. I'm going to love having the extra mileage on a charge to do road rides I couldn't do before. My motorcycles are just for recreation, so out and back distance is a big factor.

I'll still be using my 2013 FX for dirt riding but I got the DS model so that I could take some dirt roads from time to time.

And of course I ride my e-trike Zero conversion on dirt a lot.

I'm taking my 2012 S ZF9 to be crated up and shipped back to Alkmaar so I can swap it for a shiny SR.  I have to send the bike back before they will send the new one which will leave me without a bike for (probably) a few weeks. I'm sure they have their reasons.

Has it been confirmed that this offer only applies to original purchasers?

I bought mine used in late 2013 and notified Zero so they could update the owners database. I have not received a letter for the trade-in offer.

Harlan delivered my new 2014 DS ZF 11.4 today. The bike exceeded all of my expectations! It handles sweet!  8)

Both sad and happy to watch the 2012 DS being rolled into the Hollywood Electrics van. An unusual development - it wouldn't run when he tried to power it up the ramp. I never had any trouble with the 2012 running, until today. Maybe it was mad at me.  :'(

how is the turning radius on the 2014. one thing i hated about my 2012 is the lack handlebar movement. it was impossible to do real tight turns.

Turning radius is not too bad. About the same as most small street bikes and definitely better than just about every motorcycle over 800cc in size. But it is still not the bike you want if you are going to do "real tight tuns".

I noticed that the turning radius was not great on my new 2014 yesterday. But then, I'm used to my 2013 FX as the comparison.

I sure do like the way the 2014 carves the turns, however.
