Here is an archive of rebate pricing. If the Zero Australia wants to do well they should be this price or less.
SR rebate pricing $25500 - $3500 = $22000

Zero sales started in April 2014, first Early Adopter rebate offered in July then again November instant rebate, then they Quit in December.

As announced Gas Gas Australia are the new importer.
A company called Gas Gas that imports E-bikes. The irony is strong with this one ;D

Thought I jump on here and say hi - I put a deposit down on the that second hand SR mentioned when it was listed last week (seriously glad I added the bikesales email alert for all Zero listings). I'm Melbourne based, but heading up to Sydney this weekend to see it in the flesh and if all is good finalise the sale.

I'd dropped in to Elmofo last year to check out one of the Brammo's and was pretty sold on that, however with the recent Polaris buyout, and inability to get more in the country (AFAIK there's only two here - they never got that initial shipment in) decided to go for the Zero. Was holding off on the ex-demo S model that Mototecnic had recently so the price could drop to something slightly less offensive but someone beat me to it.

Anyway, I digress. From the looks of it the manufacture date for the SR falls within the recall period for the stator issue (http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM451514/RCDNN-14V119-2836P.pdf) however working to clarify if this one has been checked (it's a different VIN to the one in the report). Alto is an Audi / Mitsubishi dealer and a customer apparently traded it in, but if anyone's got other info about its history I'd love to hear about it.

I ordered through Mototecnic, they've been told that the ZERO shipment is expected to arrive in Australia mid-July, and customs clearance should only take about one week.

I put deposit down in Jan and was told mrach/April delivery, by the time they get to dealers it be August. Think Better be good pricing or I wait for 2016 models. Most of the year is over before we get them.

Yeah, I ordered mine a month ago, and was told the wait would be about five weeks, but when I called again to upgrade to the 5.7 FX, the shop had been told mid-July. One good thing about waiting a bit longer, is that the bugs, if there are any, should have been sorted out by then. You're right, though, most other manufacturers will be releasing their 2016 models when we get our 2015's!

Dearlers are only ordering in 2015 bike for people who placed orders. I have cancelled my order as price is too high. SR $26500 was quoted $23000. Was not offered any reduction or discount. They only had 3 bikes on order. Not much confidence in the launch with new importer if dealers will not be carrying show room stock or demos for test rides. Dealers obviously don't want to have stock they can't sell. I wait and see how official launch goes, if there is one. Hopefully 2016 model launch will be marketed properly.

I don't think the Australian prices have taken into account the USD1350 reduction on all 2015 models  that has happened in the USA so you'd expect that should knock close to $2k off the price.

That would mean a difference  of about AUD4000 between converted US prices and Australian RRP.  Factor in AUD2600 for GST and stamp duty and AUD1400 for shipping costs and I can see why the RRP is what it is.

Hopefully Zero is able to squeeze the margins on the bike's into Australia to get the price down as these are great bikes and the SR in particular is a very quick  and versatile street bike. And the 2015 models have better suspension and wheels plus ABS compared to my 2014.

As mentioned previously some progressive and enthusiastic dealers are needed with support from Zero to move demo stock at the end of each year.

Prices were  meant to stay the same, but SR has increased by $1000 over last years price. Zero entered the market last year with high prices then offered $3500 rebates.
So new buyers should be asking for the same rebate pricing. (Which happens to be difference between my quoted and current price).
I not happy with Australia being forced to pay  a lot higher price than rest of the world.
Australia and Canada should be similar pricing. Our currency is about the same ratio to US$ and Canada had 13% GST Australia 10% GST.
Canada prices are a lot lower than Australia even with higher tax. (I am not sure if these price have recent zero price reduction or not)

2015 Prices AU$   vs    CAD$

SR 12.5    $26,490     $18,100

Congratulations, Enjoy your ride :) I am sure there plenty of room in the price for reductions. supply and demand  will rule, but the more they sell, the more on the road and the more interest they generate.

They need to get a dealer in Sydney.
Gosford is just a bit too far.
I'm wondering how many people are put off by being so far away from the dealer.
