Lightning sells their first LS-218
« on: February 11, 2015, 04:11:59 AM »

According to an article by Glynn Kerr in the February issue of Motorcycle Consumer News, Lightning has delivered their first production LS-218 motorcycle to Troy Helming.  Helming is the founder and CEO of Pristine Sun LLC, which develops clean energy technology (he currently drives a Tesla, naturally). A limited number of five bikes will be hand-built before production begins "in earnest".  All five are already sold.  There have been over 200 purchase inquires for the first production run of their LS-218 model.

I was aware of your article, Ted.  What I didn't know is who they sold the bike to, what his claim to fame was, what Lightning's future production plans for the LS-218 were and how many potential customer "inquires" they had received for the bike.

Anyone recall how many "inquires" Brammo received for the Empulse when it was first announced?  And how many of those "inquires" turned into actual sales.   ???
