New EV biker?
« on: February 08, 2015, 04:56:43 PM »

Hi everybody!
I'm really looking into ZERO S motorcycles, and i think i'm about to go for it in a very next futur.
I can have a yellow 2013 S 11.4 with 8000km for about 10000€ (maybe a little less if i can negociate nicely), or a 2014 S 11.4 with 1500km for about 11500€ (maybe a little less too).
What would you recommand? I know a lot of things are the same, but i really do prefer the kilometric counter on the 2014 and the custom button seems better too. I know it's not a big difference between this two bikes, so do you think it is worth spending 2000€ more? I also think maybe a 2014 will keep a better price the day i want to sell it.
Thanks in advance

I would go with the 2014 because: it has a much better and more informative instrument display; it has better and stronger (front) suspension; the front Nissin brake caliper is a name brand that should allow you to obtain replacement brake pads easier; and a newer year is always worth a couple of thousand more come resale or trade-in time.   :)

2014 also has the longer battery warranty.

On the other hand, maybe you can use these things to negotiate down the 2013 price.

The mileage is not a concern on either bike.

Thanks everybody.
I don't think the guy selling the 2013 will put the price down a lot, so i'm thinking i should go for the 2014.
Need to sell my actual bike first, then goooo!

Hey guys, when i tried the zero S just after Christmas, the road was wet and so was my back after the ride!
Does a protection of this kind exists for the S?

I dont really want the license plate here, just a water protection as i will drive everyday and the sun does not always shoes up!

No. Even if you put something in the fender hole, the fender itself is still too narrow to stop the water. :-(

However, what bike is that pic from? Maybe it could be adapted?

The top case mounting bracket is sufficient to stop the spray/debris from the back wheel. At least for me on the DS.

In my opinion, the Zero's rear hugger could do with being longer, to reduce spray from the tire over the shock and rear electronics of the battery.
Its something I'm looking into making for my bike.

Not for me on the SR. I have a top rack & plate, plus a plastic sheet in the fender hole, and I still got a sand stripe on the back of my 'stich, and sand collecting on the back of the seat. It was *very* rainy the other week.

I'll have to figure something out when i get it, because i ride everyday.

Can anyone give me the full size of the bike (approxymatly)? I need it for a transportation cotation and on Zero website,it is only the size from ground contact wheel to wheel.
Thanks!
