Unfortunately, the 2010 bikes had a fairly high amount of current from the battery still flowing into the circuitry when the bike is shut off. This is why they recommended not allowing it to be unplugged for more than 14 days (earlier instructions said 7 days). In the later years Zero greatly reduced this "parasitic" current drain so that the later bikes can be left unplugged for much longer periods of time.

well it's been a month since i ordered the mbb, i called the dealer 3 times this week and he can't come up with an answer as to why he doesn't have the new one yet even though zero has them in stock but they won't sell it to me it has to go through the dealer who supposedely has ordered it 3 times but zero hasn't sent it because their shipping department doesn't know where it is and this is the same shit i been dealing with for the last year or more so now i'm just ready to burn the frikkin things and or get a lawyer and let my 2012ds that has been in the shop for 4 months now get repossessed cause i'm not paying any more of the 4 grand i still owe...!

I recieved the mbb for my 2010, and watched the training video on how the remove it from the back of the battery box. The part i got is a small printed circuit board, looks nothing like the rectangular box the video shows. Does this go inside of the black box, or is the box a sealed unit? If so they sent me the wrong part. I don't have the batt box open yet, going to drop  it this weekend, thanks.

finally got the battery box open, and replaced the mbb. I plugged back in the connector on the component attatched to the inside of the front cover, I at first thought this was the mbb. It started beeping again right away, the same pattern. So i just wasted 104$ on a part they said was bad. I actually expected this to happen so I can't be too dissapointed. I don't know what to do or say or think anymore, I am beyond being pissed, confused, dissapointed, miffed. I think the best thing to do is cut the thing up and be rid of it and just chalk it up as a bad piece of my history of owning motorcycles. Guess i could put a little briggs and stratton engine in it, at least i could use it in the yard.

I know I am going to sound like captain obvious here but do you have anyone locally with the same bike that is running who can let you use their board to confirm it isn't a board issue?

If I had a 2010 that was being a pain in the butt and I couldn't get parts fast enough I would simply start to build my own bike from what worked ...

Sorry you are going through so much trouble. Have you tried to acquire parts through Harlan instead? ... might be faster.

Who or What is Harlan?

The owner/proprietor of Hollywood Electrics, the worlds largest volume retail seller of electric motorcycles (mostly Zero's now, I believe).

Yea I am in Tucson! Near W Speedway and Greasewood. Where are you? My 2010 S is running (whirring?) all right. I get alot of speed variation/surge at light-steady throttle. 2400 miles. Got nogo glitch once- All I have done so far is cycle main battery switch off then back on. Glitch has not returned. What was the range of these when new? Mine is down to just over 20 miles in 30-45 mph burger runs. If you would like  talk email me or something.

Mine is doing small speed variation in steady speed. A calibration of the encoder correct it. I did it once at the same time than a firmware upgrade but it came back. Not that much, but it's there.

My bike does the same thing, but not badly enough to make me want to do anything about it.  The speed variation is only noticeable if you take time to look for it.  ;)
