Zero owners facebook group
« on: December 04, 2014, 02:58:46 AM »

I just posted this on the 2012 Zero thread page, and wanted to post it here too for any Zero owners out there who do the facebook thing.

Looks like about 270 Zero owners in the group right now.

Well, if there's anything in this world that could make me break down and facebook, it'd be my SR.

I doubt even that's going to happen, though.

Nope. I don't do faeces-book, and I'm not about to start.

I have it blocked at my firewall as a matter of fact.

Fast forwarding almost a couple of years, how do you folks feel about Facebook these days? The reason I ask is because my local motorcycle club recently launched a Facebook group for it's members and lots of people are posting there instead of on the forum. Facebook is more convenient but it doesn't provide the structure that a traditional forum gives. It has fragmented the club into the forum camp and the Facebook camp. Twitter hasn't really taken off yet.

I feel that Facebook is for the neophyte and the relatively trivial daily experiences.
If it is an important, technical, or detailed post then it should go in the forum for the real enthusiasts.

My daughter set up a facebook account for my wife and I, June of 2012.
She manages most of content and selected our 17 friends as her classmates scattered after high school.

Most of my 9 "Likes" and "Follows" are EV. and I just used it to Join the Zero Owners group.

If the world is going to find out Electric Motorcycles are becoming mainstream, i think one of our roles is to populate such venues with non-bot accounts.

My son would have nothing to do with facebook. (I couldn't be more proud)
