I'm just getting my head around all the charging Types and modes. I'm planning to take my BMW C-Evolution further that what I have been doing, so will need to charge along the way.

I found a web site that sells different charging cables to Type 1, the one used on the BMW.

The question I have is they have Type 3A to Type 1 and Type 3C to Type 1 (http://www.e-station-store.com/en/44-bmw-c-evolution). If I get the Type 3C, would that work on others (3A). I am presuming that it would never work on Type 2....unless you have the Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Right?

You are in Europe and the BMW-Evolution is normally using a 230Vac connection?

Don't you need a Type 2 ?


I have built my own Type 2 to 230Vac or better 3*230Vac if necessary. If you need information let me know.

According to the site, I can use both. But the Type 3A and Type 3C are confusing me, hence the question if I get 3C would that work with 3A??

OK I had a look to your cables - do you have charging station with 3A and C3? I never saw this types.

I think like you it will never fit for both- As I see you need always the cable for the station you have.

That'"s what I was afraid of. Most are 3C and if 3A is really just 3, then about 5-10% are those. There are also Type 2, but it would be crazy travelling with a storage space full of charging cables.
