The first tangible thing I missed when joining the EV crowd in the 40's degree days of Wisconsin "Spring" was the lack of heat. No longer did I warm at the stop-lights, and no longer can I reach down and hold the muffler to bring some heat into my gloves.
As Fall approaches and I see the roadside apple vendors peddling wares, I am reminded of the smells I miss.
No longer can I wrap a hamburger in foil and press it around the exhaust pipe, no more baked cinnamon apple slices sizzling while I ride, no hot potato nor even a sizzling hotdog can greet me at the rest stops anymore. Just body warmed pop-tarts from my coat pocket.
Adding a 12V cooker seems against the charter of manifold cooking.
I suppose we have time for a solar oven to warm a can of beans at the charging station, or we owe that diner some business for sharing power. But none of that greets me as I ride.
Damn that efficiency of electrics.
