Charging at GE Wattstations with J1772
« on: July 08, 2014, 10:09:56 PM »

Has anyone on the forum successfully charged their Zero at a GE Wattstation?  I have tried three different locations and have not been able to charge at any of them. I have contacted GE about this and they are looking into the problem. Today I got an email from them asking for the locations that I have tried to charge and failed. If anyone here has tried to charge at a Wattstation and failed could you pass the location to me? Perhaps the more data GE gets the faster they can determine a solution.  Thanks.

I've charged at over 2000 different J1772 stations and I've never gotten a GE Watt station to work.  I believe they require an active pilot and proximity sensor in the J1772 socket to work.  The J plugs we use don't have active communication compatibilities between the charger and the station.  So I don't bother going to them anymore.  I also avoid Blink stations because they don't work 25% of the time either.

To answer your question way before the GE guys do, you've probably just confused them, just skip the GE watt stations.
