2014 FX strange warning flash
« on: May 19, 2014, 08:21:56 AM »

Just picked up a 2014 fx 5.7 (awesome), and after about 60 miles it started to flash the warning light and green circle light simultaniously 4 times.  It repeats the 4 flashes every few seconds whenever the bike is plugged in or on.  There are no warnings in the android app, and the bike seems to be running normally.  Anyone know what it is trying to say?

I also noticed the horn doesn't work..I'm guessing they are related, maybe a wiring fault warning?

Look in the on-line owner's manual for fault light codes, it may tell you what that is.

I don't see that code in my manual.  One flash then four flashes indicate "High Throttle Disable", "Could not pre-charge motor controller - contact your dealer".

Four flashes then one flash indicates "Board Temperature Sensor out of Range", "Contact your dealer".

Four flashes then five flashes indicate "Throttle Output Error", "Turn the ignition OFF and ON. If problem persists contact Zero or your dealer."

Just about every warning seems to end with "Contact your Dealer".  (I hope you have a good one.   ;)  )

These lights can be fickle. I wouldn't be surprised if the next time RialaArms booted up his bike, the warning lights disappeared.

Use the app to send Zero your logs and they can likely diagnose.  I had both the warning and temp lights flashing simultaneously, ~5 rapid flashes every ~5 seconds.  That turned out to be a bad BMS board requiring repair.

Guys; heard recently that there is a reasonably common issue on these late model bikes which is causing a number of problems noted on the forums. Seems there is electrical noise interference which confuses signals and causes a number of faults. Zero were using Ferrite cores and now have a better solution (shielding kit) which sorts it out. Just a thought
