And I guess when you pay enough you could own the brilliant Vectrix throttle patent too

The last sentence of the Facebook announcement suggests that they are still looking at their options with regards to the Vectrix IP:

I’m sad to state that on March 31, 2014, Vectrix LLC filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts and I was appointed as its Chapter 7 trustee. The case number is 14-11381-WCH. I’ve had a chance to see the different motorcycles; the VX-1 and VX-2 and the very cool VX-3 with its stable three-wheel configuration. Unfortunately, the company has shut down. We will be auctioning off the remaining assets on June 18, 2014, at the company headquarters in New Bedford. Paul A. Saperstein & Co. I note that the new BMW C Evolution scooter seems to have a Vectrix feature.  If I read the specifications correctly, it appears to have a throttle that will back the scooter up when rotated forward, past the closed position.  I wonder what else they got (or swiped) from Vectrix?

The Sevcon has this "feature" as one of its Throttle settings but the "throttle -mechanic" is a different issue!

From the http://www.vectrix-scooter.nl/vectrix-vt-1/ website (apparently www.Vectrix.com has been shut down):

"Built with the same Vectrix core technologies like our patented Vectrix Regenerative Throttle, Battery Management System, and Drive Train that have made us the global standard bearer in electric two-wheelers since 1996"

It appears that Vectrix has a patent on a roll-forward-to-regen throttle design, but I don't know if that means nobody else can come up with roll-forward-to-regen throttle that works slightly differently.

The BMW C Evolution does not have the Vectrix throttle. There is a button for reverse and the regen braking works at zero throttle. This means you cannot coast. You can select different ride modes with more or less regen though.

Oh, a reverse button?  That seems too simple to be on a BMW vehicle.

does anyone know the technical specs of the lithium batteries? voltage, amps? chemistry? physical dimensions, flat or round cells, etc?
